Description

These spelt rolls are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The recipe is simple and quick to prepare, ideal for a delicious breakfast or dinner. Baked with spelt flour, they are a hearty alternative to classic bread rolls. The recipe yields 6-8 servings and is therefore perfect for the whole family.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 500 g Spelt Flour Type 630
  • 7 g Dry Yeast
  • 1.5 TL Salt
  • 1 TL Sugar
  • 2 EL Olive oil
  • 350 ml lukewarm Water
  • Sesame
  • Poppy seeds
  • Sunflower seeds

Preparation (6 steps)

Mix dry ingredients

Put 500 g spelt flour type 630 (or 1050), 7 g dry yeast, 1 ½ tsp salt and 1 tsp sugar or honey into the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec./level 3.

Add liquid ingredients and knead the dough

Add 350 ml lukewarm water and 2 tbsp olive oil and knead for 2 min./kneading stage.

Shape dough

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl with floured hands and divide into 6–8 rolls. Loosely shape the rolls into round or elongated shapes.

Prepare oven

Preheat the oven to 220 °C top/bottom heat. Place a fireproof bowl with water on the oven floor.

Bake rolls

Place the shaped rolls on a baking sheet, optionally cut them and sprinkle with grains (sesame, poppy seeds, sunflower seeds). Bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

Let the rolls evaporate

Let the baked rolls evaporate briefly on a wire rack.
