Description

This recipe for Chinese Chicken in Garlic Sauce is a hearty main course with Asian flavors. The dish is prepared in about 35 minutes and is ideal for a quick dinner. The chicken is fried in a separate pan and then mixed with a spicy garlic sauce in the Thermomix®. Served with rice, it is a satisfying and tasty dish.

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 500 g Chicken
  • 1 Stück Onion
  • 4 Stück Garlic cloves
  • 2 EL Vegetable oil
  • 120 ml Soy sauce
  • 1 EL Rice vinegar
  • 1 EL Sugar
  • 1 TL Sesame oil
  • 0.5 TL Chili powder
  • 0.5 TL Garlic powder
  • 0.25 TL Ginger powder
  • 1 EL Cornstarch

Preparation (6 steps)

Chop onion and garlic

Place 1 peeled and quartered onion in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./level 5. Add 4 garlic cloves and chop for 3 sec./level 7.

Sauté onion and garlic

Add 2 tbsp vegetable oil to the mixing bowl and sauté the chopped onion and garlic for 3 min./120°C/level 1.

Prepare sauce

Add 120 ml soy sauce, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1/2 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp ginger powder and 1 tbsp cornstarch to the mixing bowl and stir for 5 sec./level 3.

Let the sauce simmer

Let the sauce simmer for 5 min./100°C/level 2. Leave the measuring cup on.

Add chicken and heat

Add 500g chicken (previously fried in a separate pan) to the mixing bowl and heat for 3 min./100°C/reverse level 1.
