Description

These protein bars are a healthy and vegan alternative to conventional granola bars. They are rich in proteins and fiber and are ideal as a snack in between meals or after sports. The preparation is quick and easy, the baking time is 18-22 minutes. The recipe is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 1 can Chickpeas
  • 100 g Oat flakes
  • 80 g Almond butter
  • 50 ml Maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 4 tbsp (Plant based) milk

Preparation (7 steps)

Purée chickpeas

30 sec/Speed 8

Add 1 can of chickpeas to the mixing bowl and purée for 30 sec./speed 8. If necessary, push down with the spatula and repeat the process until the chickpeas are very finely puréed.

Stir in nut butter and sweetener

Add 80g almond butter and 50-70 ml maple syrup (or honey) to the puréed chickpeas in the mixing bowl and stir for 20 sec./speed 3.

Fold in dry ingredients

Add 100g oat flakes, 2 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 pinch of salt to the mixing bowl and fold in for 15 sec./speed 3 reverse.

Incorporate milk

10 sec/Speed 3 Reverse

Add 4-5 tbsp of (plant based) milk tablespoon by tablespoon to the mixing bowl and incorporate for 10 sec./speed 3 reverse until a thick, moldable mass is formed.

Shape mixture

Press the mixture into a baking paper-lined mold (use a granola bar mold if available).

Chill or bake

Either refrigerate the mixture for approx. 2 hours or bake at 175 degrees for 18-22 minutes for firm bars.

Decorate

Let the bars cool, cut into shape and, if desired, decorate with dark chocolate, nuts, kernels or coconut flakes.
