Description

These harlequin little biscuits are an explosion of color and joy! I often prepare them for children's parties or simply when I want to bring a little liveliness to the table. The recipe is very simple and quick, perfect for those who have little time but don't want to give up a homemade treat. The base is a crumbly shortcrust pastry enriched with a touch of vanilla, while the surface is covered with colored sugar that makes them irresistible. They are perfect to enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee, or to offer as a small sweet gift. The preparation is really quick, but the dough must rest in the fridge for at least an hour.

Loaf formation and rest

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured work surface and form a smooth and compact loaf. Wrap the loaf in food film and let it rest in the fridge for an hour.

5

Cutting and preparing the biscuits

After the resting time, cut the loaf into slices about 1.5 centimeters thick with a knife. Cut each slice into small pieces in order to obtain portions that are quite similar to each other. Massage each portion between the palms of your hands to obtain balls and as they are ready, keep them aside, avoiding them sticking together.

6

Decoration of the biscuits

Pass the balls in the colored sugar so as to cover the entire surface.

7

Baking in the oven

Arrange the biscuits on a baking tray lined with baking paper, spacing them a little between them and bake in a static oven preheated to 180 °C for 15 minutes or in a fan oven at 170 °C for the same time.
