Description

This colorful cake with chocolate lentils is a real eye-catcher and ideal for birthdays. The fluffy sponge base is filled with a creamy curd-cream filling and coated with cream. The colorful chocolate lentils make the cake a special highlight. Preparation takes about 3 hours and yields 12 servings. A great dessert for any celebration!

  • 175 g Sugar
  • 175 g Flour
  • 1 TL Baking powder
  • 500 g Cream
  • 500 g Curd
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 200 g Cream
  • 200 g Chocolate lentils

Preparation (11 steps)

Prepare sponge base

Preheat oven to 175°C top/bottom heat. Line a springform pan (26 cm diameter) with baking paper.

Beat eggs and sugar

Put 6 eggs and 175g sugar into the mixing bowl and beat for 6 min./speed 4 with the butterfly until the mixture is foamy.

Mix and fold in flour and baking powder

Mix 175g flour and 1 tsp baking powder. Remove the butterfly. Carefully fold the flour mixture into the egg-sugar mixture with a spatula.

Bake sponge

Pour the dough into the prepared springform pan and bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes. Do a stick test. Let the sponge base cool down.

Prepare filling

Pour 500g cream into the mixing bowl and whip with the butterfly for 2-3 min./speed 3.5 until stiff. Observe the cream so that it does not turn into butter.

Stir curd and sugar

Put 500g curd and 75g sugar into the mixing bowl and stir for 20 sec./speed 3.

Fold in cream

Carefully fold the whipped cream into the curd-sugar mixture with a spatula.

Fill cake

Cut the cooled sponge base twice horizontally to create three bases. Place the bottom base on a cake plate and spread with half of the curd-cream filling. Place the second base on top and spread with the remaining filling. Place the third base on top.

Spread cake edge with cream

Thermomix® Setting
1-2 min/Speed 3,5

Pour 200g cream into the mixing bowl and whip with the butterfly for 1-2 min./speed 3.5 until stiff. Spread the cream all around the cake.

Attach chocolate lentils

Decorate the cake with 200g chocolate lentils. It is best to press the chocolate lentils onto the edge of the cake.

Chill cake

Place the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
