Description
This Thermomix® recipe for caramel popcorn is a quick, vegan snack made from popcorn kernels, sugar and oil. In just 5 minutes, a portion of sweet popcorn is created. Ideal for a small snack in between meals, a cozy movie night or as a sweet treat for vegans and sweet tooths. The preparation in the Thermomix® is straightforward and guaranteed to succeed.
Ingredients (3 ingredients)

4 EL Vegetable oil, neutral (e.g. rapeseed or sunflower oil)

50 g Popcorn kernels

50 g Sugar
Preparation (4 steps)
Heat oil and add kernels
Add 4 tbsp vegetable oil to the mixing bowl and heat for 2 min./120°C/speed 1. Add 50 g popcorn kernels and mix for 10 sec./speed 2/reverse.
Add sugar and caramelize
Add 50 g sugar and mix for 5 sec./speed 3. Close the mixing bowl lid and heat for 3 min./100°C/speed 4 until the popcorn pops. Do not open the mixing bowl lid and watch the popping.
Let the popcorn cool down and serve
As soon as no more popping noises can be heard, switch off the mixing bowl immediately. Carefully open the lid and stir with the spatula. Transfer the popcorn to a bowl.
Clean mixing bowl
Fill the mixing bowl with water and heat for 10 min./100°C/speed 1 until the caramel has dissolved.
