Ingredients (19 ingredients)

  • 2 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 cup chopped fresh rhubarb (1/2-inch pieces)
  • 1 piece onion, chopped
  • 1 piece large red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1.5 pounds ground turkey
  • 3 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 2 can black beans, rinsed and drained (15 ounce)
  • 2 can diced tomatoes (14.5 ounce)
  • 1 cup frozen white corn
  • salt
  • ground black pepper

Chop onion and garlic

Place 1 onion, quartered, into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec/speed 5. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.

Sauté onion, rhubarb, and bell pepper

Add 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil to the mixing bowl. Add the chopped onion, 3 cups of chopped fresh rhubarb, 1 large red bell pepper, chopped, and 1 teaspoon of sea salt. Cook for 5 min/120°C/speed 1.

Brown the ground turkey

Remove the vegetables from the mixing bowl and set aside. In a skillet, brown 1 ½ pounds of ground turkey over medium heat. Add 3 cloves of minced garlic and cook until the turkey starts to brown, about 5 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Combine spices

Add the cooked ground turkey and garlic to the mixing bowl with the sautéed vegetables. Add 2 tablespoons of chili powder, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon of white sugar, 1 ½ teaspoons of ground cumin, ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon of ground allspice, and ⅛ teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper. Cook for 3 min/100°C/speed 1.

Add beans, tomatoes, and corn

Add 2 (15 ounce) cans of black beans, rinsed and drained, 2 (14.5 ounce) cans of diced tomatoes, and 1 cup of frozen white corn to the mixing bowl. Mix well using the spatula.

Simmer the chili

Thermomix® Setting
30 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Cook for 30 min/100°C/speed 1/Reverse blade. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
