Description

This recipe for classic steamed dumplings with vanilla sauce is a traditional dish that can be easily prepared with the Thermomix®. The yeast dough is kneaded in the Thermomix® and then rises in a warm place. The steamed dumplings are cooked in the pan, while the vanilla sauce is prepared in the Thermomix®. An ideal dessert for the whole family, especially in the cold season.

Ingredients (13 ingredients)

  • 500 g Flour
  • 250 ml Lukewarm milk
  • 50 g Butter (melted)
  • 1 TL Salt
  • 1 Würfel Yeast
  • 1 TL Sugar
  • 1 EL Butter (for baking)
  • 0.25 l Water
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • 500 ml Milk
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla pudding powder
  • 40 g Sugar
  • 1 Stück Egg yolk

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare yeast

Thermomix® Setting

Add 1 cube of yeast and 1 tsp of sugar to the mixing bowl and dissolve for 2 min./37°C/speed 2.

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/Kneading speed

Add 250 ml lukewarm milk, 50 g melted butter, 1 tsp salt and 500 g flour to the yeast in the mixing bowl and knead for 3 min./kneading setting to a smooth dough.

Let dough rise

Transfer the dough to a bowl, cover with a cloth and let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes until the volume has doubled.

Shape steamed dumplings

Briefly knead the dough again on a floured work surface and divide into approx. 6 equal pieces. Form each piece of dough into a ball.

Cook steamed dumplings

Melt 1 tbsp butter in a large, coated pan. Place the dough balls in it. Add 1/4 l water and 1 pinch of salt. The steamed dumplings should be about 1 cm in the water. Put the lid on and cook the steamed dumplings over medium heat for about 20 minutes until the water has evaporated and the bottom is golden brown.

Prepare vanilla sauce

Add 500 ml milk, 1 packet vanilla pudding powder, 40 g sugar and 1 egg yolk to the mixing bowl and cook for 7 min./90°C/speed 3. Leave the measuring cup on.

Serve

Serve the steamed dumplings with the vanilla sauce.
