Description

This recipe for sour cherry compote is a fruity dessert that is easily prepared with the Thermomix®. The combination of cherries, cinnamon and lemon ensures a harmonious taste experience. The compote is ideal as a filling for cakes or as a side dish to ice cream. The preparation time is about 45 minutes.

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 1 Glas Sour cherry / Sour cherries
  • 45 g Cornstarch
  • 1 Pr. Cinnamon
  • 0.5 Stück Lemon / Lemons (juice)
  • 60 g Sugar

Preparation (6 steps)

Catch cherry juice

Drain the sour cherries in a sieve and collect the juice in a separate container. Make sure you have the collected cherry juice ready for the next step.

Mix ingredients

Add 45 g cornstarch, 1 pinch of cinnamon, 0.5 lemons (juice) and 60 g sugar together with the collected cherry juice into the mixing bowl.

Thicken cherry juice

Bring the mixture of cornstarch, cinnamon, lemon juice, sugar and cherry juice to a boil in the mixing bowl for 7 min./100°C/speed 2 until the juice has thickened. Leave the measuring cup on.

Add cherries

Add the drained sour cherries (1 glass) to the mixing bowl and carefully fold in with the spatula. 30 sec./Reverse/speed 1.

Let cool down

Pour the cherry mixture from the mixing bowl into a bowl and let it cool completely.

Spread in a dome shape and cool

Place the bottom layer on a cake plate and spread the cooled cherry mixture on top in a dome shape, leaving a 1 cm gap to the edge. Place a cake ring around it and refrigerate the cake.
