Description

This hearty lentil stew with spätzle is a real soul food, especially on cold days! I like to make it when it's uncomfortable outside. The combination of savory lentils, spicy bacon cubes and the delicious spätzle is simply unbeatable. The preparation in the Thermomix® makes everything super easy and quick. A great dish for the whole family that is also inexpensive. If you like, you can add some vinegar for a sour note. Can also be prepared well!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 500 g Brown lentils
  • 125 g Diced bacon
  • 2 l Vegetable broth
  • 500 g Spätzle
  • 2 piece Onions
  • 20 g Clarified butter
  • 1 tbsp Wheat flour Type 405
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Preparation (6 steps)

Chop onions

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 5

Peel and halve the onions and place them in the mixing bowl. Chop for 3 sec./level 5.

Sauté onions

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add clarified butter to the onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/level 1.

Add lentils, bacon and broth

Add brown lentils, bacon cubes and vegetable broth to the mixing bowl.

Cook lentils

Thermomix® Setting
25 min/212°F/Speed 1 Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Close the mixing bowl and cook for 25 min./100°C/level 1 reverse.

Add flour and thicken

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/212°F/Speed 2 Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add wheat flour Type 405 and stir in for 2 min./100°C/level 2 reverse.

Season and serve

Season the lentil stew with salt and pepper. Stir in the spätzle and serve.
