Description

These gingerbread poultry nuggets are an original and tasty alternative to classic nuggets. The gingerbread breadcrumbs bring a deliciously fragrant sweet and savory touch. I often prepare them for a quick lunch or a friendly dinner. This is a recipe that I adapted for the Thermomix®, in order to facilitate the preparation of breadcrumbs and obtain a perfect texture. The gingerbread, lightly toasted, offers an incomparable crispness. Accompanied by a green salad, these nuggets are a treat for the taste buds. Feel free to vary the spices according to your tastes to further personalize this recipe. A real delight for young and old!

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 3 piece Chicken cutlet
  • 6 slice Gingerbread
  • 2 piece Egg
  • 3 c. à soupe Flour
  • 3 c. à soupe Peanut oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation (7 steps)

Preparation of gingerbread

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Cut 6 slices of gingerbread and bake them on the oven rack for about 10 minutes to dry them. This step is crucial to obtain a well-crisped breadcrumb.

Reducing gingerbread to powder

Thermomix® Setting
15 sec/Speed 10

Once the gingerbread slices are dried, place them in the Thermomix bowl and mix for 15 Sek./Stufe 10 to obtain a fine powder. Transfer the powder to a bowl.

Preparation of chicken cutlets

Cut 3 chicken cutlets into nugget-sized pieces. Salt and pepper the pieces.

Preparation of eggs and flour

In a bowl, beat 2 eggs. Pour 3 tbsp of flour into another bowl.

Coating the nuggets

Successively pass the pieces of chicken in the flour, the beaten eggs, then the gingerbread breadcrumbs. Make sure each piece is well coated.

Cooking the nuggets

Heat 3 tbsp of peanut oil in a pan over medium heat. Brown the breaded meat pieces in the hot oil until they are golden brown and cooked through. Drain them on paper towels.

Service

Serve the crispy gingerbread poultry nuggets immediately. They are delicious with a green salad or a sauce of your choice.
