Description

This southern style fried chicken is a dish that evokes memories of family meals and celebrations. The key is in the marinade and breading, which give it an unmatched flavor and texture. I often prepare it for my friends and it is always a success. The honey and mustard in the sauce give it a sweet and sour touch that perfectly complements the crispy chicken. Although it takes a little time, the result is worth it. Go ahead and try it and surprise your guests! It is ideal for an informal lunch or dinner, and can be accompanied with a fresh salad or homemade french fries. Enjoy!

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 4 piece Chicken legs
  • 140 gramos Wheat flour
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs
  • 1 piece Egg
  • 1 pinch Salt pepper
  • 1 cucharada sopera Honey
  • 2 cucharadas soperas Mustard
  • 1 pinch Dried thyme

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare the ingredients

Make sure you have all the ingredients on hand and ready to use: chicken thighs, flour, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, honey, mustard and dried thyme.

Mix flour and thyme

In a large paper bag, place 140 grams of wheat flour and 1 pinch of dried thyme. Close the bag and shake to mix well.

Flour the chicken

Pre-season the 4 chicken thighs with salt and pepper to taste. Place the chicken thighs in the bag with the flour and thyme. Close the bag tightly and shake vigorously so that the chicken is completely covered in flour.

Bread the chicken

Beat 1 egg in a bowl. Dip each floured chicken thigh first in the beaten egg and then in 1 cup of breadcrumbs, making sure it is well covered on all sides.

Fry the chicken

Heat plenty of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded chicken thighs in the hot oil for approximately 35 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and place on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Prepare the sauce

In the Thermomix bowl, place 1 tablespoon of honey and 2 tablespoons of mustard. Mix for 10 seconds/Stufe 3 until well combined.

Serve

Serve the crispy southern style chicken thighs hot, accompanied by the sweet and sour honey mustard sauce.
