Description

These crispy Cajun chicken strips are a delicious and flavorful bite, perfect for sharing as an appetizer or enjoying as a main course. The milk and lemon marinade ensures that the chicken is tender and juicy, while the Cajun spice mix gives it an irresistible spicy and aromatic touch. The crushed toasted corn coating adds a crispy texture that perfectly complements the smoothness of the chicken. An easy and quick dish to prepare that is always a success!

Ingredients (17 ingredients)

  • 4 piece Chicken breasts
  • 1 piece Lemon (juice)
  • 480 mililitros Milk
  • 2 tsp Ground cayenne
  • 2 tbsp Hot paprika
  • 2 tbsp Sweet paprika
  • 2 tsp Ground white pepper
  • 2 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Dry mustard
  • 2 tsp Ground garlic
  • 2 tbsp Ground oregano
  • 2 tbsp Ground thyme
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • Oil for frying
  • Toasted corn or kikos
  • 10 tbsp Flour for coating
  • 1 piece Egg

Preparation (5 steps)

Crush the toasted corn

Place the toasted corn in the Thermomix bowl and crush for 10 seconds at speed 7. Reserve.

Mix the spices

In a bowl, mix the ground cayenne, hot paprika, sweet paprika, ground white pepper, ground black pepper, dry mustard, ground garlic, ground oregano, ground thyme, salt and flour for coating. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

Marinate the chicken

Cut the chicken breasts into thick strips. In a bowl, place the chicken strips along with the milk and lemon juice. Marinate for 15-20 minutes at room temperature.

Coat the chicken

Drain the chicken strips well. Pass each strip through the spice mixture, making sure they are well covered. Then, pass through the beaten egg and, finally, coat with the crushed toasted corn.

Fry the chicken

Heat plenty of oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the coated chicken strips until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove and place on absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
