  • 0.33 cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1 bulb garlic, peeled and minced
  • 0.5 tsp toasted cumin seed
  • 6 ounce tomato paste
  • 3 inch piece ginger, peeled and minced
  • 2 tsp garam masala, divided
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup water, or as needed
  • 10 ounce frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 pound paneer, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp garam masala

Melt ghee and sauté garlic and cumin
