Description

These homemade churros are a crispy delight on the outside and soft on the inside. The recipe is very simple and perfect to enjoy for a special breakfast or as a dessert accompanied by a good hot chocolate. I prepare them often on weekends and they are always a success. The dough is made in the blink of an eye, and the final touch of sugar gives them an irresistible flavour. Go ahead and try them, you will love them! They are ideal to share with friends or family on a winter afternoon. Also, you can vary the recipe by adding a little cinnamon to the dough for an extra touch of flavour.

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 120 g Flour
  • 200 ml Water
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 cantidad suficiente Oil for frying
  • 1 al gusto Sugar

Heat the water

Thermomix® Setting

Pour 200 ml of water into the Thermomix bowl and program 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 1 to bring the water to a boil.

Add the flour and salt

Thermomix® Setting

Add 120g of flour and a pinch of salt to the boiling water in the Thermomix bowl. Mix 20 Sek./Stufe 4 until a firm dough forms.

Cool the dough

Remove the dough from the Thermomix bowl and let it temper for a few minutes on a clean surface.

Knead the dough

Knead the dough by hand until it is smooth and homogeneous. This step is important for the final texture of the churros.

Rest the dough

Let the dough rest at room temperature for 30 minutes. This allows the gluten to relax and the churros to be more tender.

Prepare the churros

Place the dough in a pastry bag with a star tip. If you don't have a pastry bag, you can make cords with the dough and mark them with a fork.

Fry the churros

Heat plenty of oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the churros until golden brown on all sides. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on absorbent paper.

Sprinkle with sugar

Sprinkle the churros with sugar to taste while they are still hot. Serve immediately with hot chocolate or coffee with milk.
