Description

Fine vanilla crescent cookies are a classic Christmas pastry that can be prepared quickly in the Thermomix®. The main ingredients are flour, butter, almonds and sugar. With a preparation time of about 60 minutes, this recipe yields a portion of delicious crescent cookies. Ideal as a festive dessert, with coffee or as a sweet treat for the whole family.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 250 g Wheat flour Type 405
  • 210 g Butter, soft
  • 100 g Almonds, ground
  • 80 g Sugar
  • 2 Pck. Vanilla sugar
  • 1 Prise(n) Salt
  • 1 Pck. Icing sugar
  • 2 Pck. Vanilla sugar

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting

Put 250 g wheat flour Type 405, 210 g soft butter, 100 g ground almonds, 80 g sugar (or icing sugar), 2 packets of vanilla sugar and 1 pinch of salt into the mixing bowl and knead for 2 min./kneading setting to form a dough.

Shape and chill dough

Remove the crescent cookie dough from the mixing bowl and shape into rolls with a diameter of approx. 4 cm. Wrap the dough rolls in cling film or baking paper and place in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes.

Prepare icing sugar mixture

Sieve 1 packet of icing sugar into a large bowl. Add 2 packets of vanilla sugar and the pulp of a vanilla pod (optional) and mix well.

Shape crescent cookies

Gradually cut the chilled dough rolls into approx. 1-2 cm thick slices. Shape the crescent cookies from these slices and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Make sure not to place the crescent cookies too close together.

Bake crescent cookies

Bake the shaped crescent cookies in a preheated oven at 175 °C circulating air for approx. 10-15 minutes. The crescent cookies are ready when they start to brown slightly.

Turn crescent cookies

Let the baked crescent cookies cool for approx. 3 minutes. Then place in the prepared icing sugar mixture and carefully turn in it from all sides so that they are completely covered with icing sugar.

Let crescent cookies cool

Let the finished vanilla crescent cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
