Description

This Thermomix® recipe for meatballs with coleslaw and fried potatoes is a hearty main course with potatoes, white cabbage and caraway seeds. It takes about 60 minutes to make 4 servings. The coleslaw is refined with apple cider vinegar and olive oil. Ideal for lovers of traditional cuisine and simple family meals.

Ingredients (16 ingredients)

  • 1 kg waxy potatoes
  • 1 TL Salt
  • 1.2 kg White cabbage
  • 1 TL Salt
  • 1 Prise Pepper
  • 3 EL Apple cider vinegar
  • 3 EL Olive oil
  • 0.5 TL Caraway seeds
  • 500 g Mixed ground meat
  • 100 g Breadcrumbs
  • 1 TL Mustard
  • 1 Stück Egg
  • 1 Stück Onion
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • 1 Prise Pepper
  • 4 EL Oil for frying

Preparation (6 steps)

Cook potatoes

Thermomix® Setting
20-30 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Peel 1 kg of potatoes and place them in the simmering basket. Pour 1000 ml of water into the mixing bowl. Insert the simmering basket and cook for 20-30 min./Varoma/speed 1, until the potatoes are soft. Drain the potatoes and let them cool.

Prepare coleslaw

Put 1.2 kg of white cabbage into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 4. Transfer to a bowl. Add 1 tsp of salt and knead well with your hands until the cabbage is soft. Add 3 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, 3 tbsp of olive oil, ½ tsp of caraway seeds and pepper and mix. Let it steep in the refrigerator.

Prepare meatballs

Peel 1 onion and put it into the mixing bowl. Chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Scrape down the sides with the spatula. Add 500 g of ground meat, 40 g of breadcrumbs, 1 tsp of mustard, 1 egg, salt and pepper to the mixing bowl and mix for 1 min./speed 3. Form small meatballs from the mixture and coat them in the remaining 60 g of breadcrumbs.

Fry meatballs

Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a separate pan and fry the meatballs over medium heat until golden brown on both sides and cooked through.

Prepare fried potatoes

Cut the cooled potatoes into slices. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a separate pan and fry the potato slices in it over medium heat until crispy.

Serve

Serve the meatballs together with the fried potatoes and the coleslaw.
