Description

This Thermomix® recipe for Steamed Dumplings is a hearty main course or side dish from the dumplings category. The main ingredients are milk, sugar, fresh yeast, wheat flour type 405 and egg. Heat milk and dissolve yeast

Add 350 ml milk and 0.5 tsp sugar to the mixing bowl and heat for 2 min./37°C/speed 2. Add 0.5 cube of fresh yeast and mix for 10 sec./speed 3 until the yeast has dissolved.

Let the yeast mixture rest

Let the yeast mixture rest in the mixing bowl for 15 minutes until bubbles form. Leave the mixing bowl closed.

Prepare the dough

2 min/Kneading speed

Add 500 g wheat flour type 405, 1 tsp salt and 1 egg (room temperature) to the yeast mixture in the mixing bowl. Knead for 2 min./kneading level to form a dough. If necessary, add a little more flour if the dough is too liquid.

Let the dough rise (1st time)

Let the dough rise in the mixing bowl for 20 minutes at room temperature. Leave the mixing bowl closed.

Knead the dough

30 sec/Kneading speed

Briefly knead the dough in the mixing bowl for 30 sec./kneading level.

Let the dough rise (2nd time)

Let the dough rise in the mixing bowl again for 20 minutes at room temperature. Leave the mixing bowl closed.

Let the dough rise (3rd time)

Let the dough rise in the mixing bowl again for 20 minutes at room temperature. Leave the mixing bowl closed.

Shape the dough

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl, knead briefly again and form into 3 loaves.

Cook the dumplings

Bring salted water to a boil in a large roasting pan. Add loaves, reduce heat and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes, depending on size. Turn dumplings occasionally. It is necessary to use a large roasting pan or pot, as the dumplings rise a lot.

Serve dumplings

Cut the finished dumplings into slices while still hot and serve.
