Description

This recipe for braised carrots is a real all-rounder! I like to make it as a side dish to meat dishes or just as a light lunch. The carrots are made particularly aromatic by caramelizing the sugar and the fresh parsley provides that certain something. The preparation is super easy and quick, so it is also perfect for cooking beginners. A great dish when you need something quick and still want to put something healthy on the table. Even children love the slightly sweet carrots!

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 500 g Carrots
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 2 Prisen Salt
  • 50 ml Water
  • 1 tbsp chopped Parsley

Preparation (5 steps)

Prepare carrots

Peel 500 g carrots and cut diagonally into slices about 5 mm thick. Set the prepared carrots aside.

Melt butter and caramelize sugar

Add 3 tbsp butter to the mixing bowl and melt for 3 min./50°C/speed 1. Add 1 tsp sugar and caramelize for 2 min./100°C/speed 1.

Sauté carrots

Add the sliced carrots to the mixing bowl, add 2 pinches of salt and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1. Use the spatula to push down as needed.

Steam carrots

Thermomix® Setting
10 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Add 50 ml water to the carrots in the mixing bowl and cook for 10 min./100°C/speed 1. Use the spatula to move the carrots if necessary.

Serve

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 1 Linkslauf Reverse

Add 1 tbsp chopped parsley to the carrots and stir in for 10 sec./speed 1 reverse. Serve the carrot vegetables immediately.
