Description

These spiced molasses drop cookies are a delightful treat, especially during the cooler months. I've been making these for years, and they always disappear quickly! The crackled tops add a lovely texture, and the molasses gives them a unique depth of flavor. Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 0.66666666666667 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 piece egg
  • 0.25 cup molasses
  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.33333333333333 cup white sugar

Preparation (5 steps)

Combine Oil and Sugar

Add ⅔ cup vegetable oil and 1 cup white sugar to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 20 Sec./Stufe 3.

Add Egg and Mix

Add 1 egg to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 15 Sek./Stufe 4.

Add Molasses and Spices

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 5

Add ¼ cup molasses, 2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons baking soda, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon ground ginger, and ½ teaspoon ground cloves to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 30 Sek./Stufe 5. If the dough is too soft, add more flour gradually until a firm dough forms.

Shape and Coat Cookies

Remove the dough from the Thermomix bowl. Shape the dough into 1 1/4-inch balls by hand. Roll each ball in ⅓ cup white sugar. Place the sugared balls 3 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake Cookies

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Bake in the preheated oven until the tops crack, 12 to 14 minutes. Remove cookies from the baking sheet and cool on a rack.
