Description

These cinnamon swirls made from curd dough are a delicious pastry for breakfast or dessert, prepared with margarine, flour, sugar and cinnamon. The Thermomix® shortens the preparation time to about 50 minutes for 12 servings. Ideal for the winter coffee table or as a sweet surprise for breakfast. Especially suitable for lovers of cakes and pastries.

Ingredients (15 ingredients)

  • 125 g Margarine
  • 200 g Margarine
  • 50 g Margarine
  • 200 g Brown sugar
  • 2.5 TL Cinnamon
  • 500 g Flour
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar
  • 1 Päckchen Baking powder
  • 1 TL Iodized salt
  • 250 g Low-fat curd cheese
  • 150 ml Milk
  • 50 g Icing sugar
  • 125 g Cream cheese
  • Baking paper

Preparation (11 steps)

Preheat oven and prepare springform pan

Preheat the oven to 200 °C (convection: 180 °C). Line a springform pan with baking paper and grease the edge. Perform this step without Thermomix.

Melt margarine for the cinnamon filling

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/122°F/Speed 1 50

Put 125 g margarine in the mixing bowl and melt for 3 min./50°C/speed 1.

Prepare cinnamon filling

Put 200 g brown sugar and 2 1/2 tsp cinnamon in a bowl and mix. Add the melted margarine from the mixing bowl and stir. Set aside. Perform this step without Thermomix.

Mix dry ingredients for the dough

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 4

Put 500 g flour, 50 g sugar, 1 packet vanilla sugar, 1 packet baking powder and 1 tsp iodized salt in the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec./speed 4.

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Kneading speed

Add 200 g margarine in flakes, 250 g low-fat curd cheese and 150 ml milk to the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl and knead for 2 min./kneading setting.

Shape and roll out dough

Shape the dough into a ball with floured hands. Roll out into a rectangle on a floured work surface (approx. 30 x 40 cm). Perform this step without Thermomix.

Spread cinnamon filling and cut rolls

Spread the prepared cinnamon filling on the dough with the back of a spoon, leaving a border of approx. 2 cm all around. Roll the dough up tightly from the long side. Cut into 12 equal rolls with a sharp knife. Perform this step without Thermomix.

Place cinnamon rolls in the springform pan

Place the rolls with the visible cinnamon filling facing up in the springform pan, leaving enough space between them (9 rolls outwards and 3 inwards). Perform this step without Thermomix.

Bake cinnamon rolls

Place the springform pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. Perform this step without Thermomix.

Prepare cream cheese frosting

Thermomix® Setting
1 min/Speed 3

Put 50 g margarine and 50 g icing sugar in the mixing bowl and whip until creamy with the butterfly for 1 min./speed 3. Remove butterfly. Add 125 g cream cheese and stir for 10 sec./speed 3.

Spread cream cheese frosting on cinnamon rolls

Let the cinnamon rolls cool for 15 minutes after baking and then spread the cream cheese frosting on top while still warm. Best enjoyed lukewarm. Perform this step without Thermomix.
