Description

This hearty Rigatoni Casserole with ground meat and mozzarella, prepared in the Thermomix®, is a savory main course for the whole family. The main ingredients are rigatoni, ground beef, mozzarella, tomato paste and onions. With a preparation time of 75 minutes, including 45 minutes of active work, you get 6 servings. Ideal for lovers of Italian cuisine and hearty casseroles.

Ingredients (15 ingredients)

  • 350 g Rigatoni
  • 1 Stück Onion
  • 1 Zehe Garlic
  • 100 g Cooked ham
  • 300 g Ground beef
  • 1 EL Olive oil
  • 100 g Tomato paste
  • 250 ml Beef broth
  • 250 g Cream
  • 1 EL Italian herbs
  • 3 EL Grated Parmesan
  • 150 g Peas - frozen
  • 50 g Grated Mozzarella
  • nach Geschmack Salt
  • nach Geschmack Pepper

Preparation (9 steps)

Prepare rigatoni

Cook 350 g rigatoni according to package directions in a separate pot until al dente. In the meantime, continue with the next steps.

Chop onion and garlic

Add 1 peeled and quartered onion and 1 clove of garlic to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. If necessary, use the spatula to push down from the edge.

Sauté onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add 1 tbsp olive oil to the onions and garlic in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Fry ground meat (NOT in the Thermomix!)

Fry 300 g of ground beef in a separate pan with a little oil until crumbly. Cut 100 g of cooked ham into small pieces and set aside.

Roast tomato paste

Add 100 g tomato paste to the sautéed onions and garlic in the mixing bowl and roast for 2 min./120°C/speed 1.

Simmer sauce

Thermomix® Setting
15 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Add 250 ml beef broth and 250 g cream (whipping cream or cooking cream) to the mixing bowl. Add the fried ground meat. Add 1 tbsp Italian herbs, salt and pepper to taste and simmer for 15 min./100°C/speed 1. If you have more time, you can simmer the sauce for 30 minutes.

Stir in Parmesan

Add 3 tbsp grated Parmesan to the mixing bowl and stir in for 20 sec./speed 2.

Mix and prepare casserole

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top and bottom heat. Put the cooked rigatoni, the sauce from the mixing bowl, 150 g of frozen peas and the sliced ham in a casserole dish and mix well.

Bake with mozzarella topping

Sprinkle 150 g grated mozzarella over the casserole and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
