Description

This hearty leek cake is a real treat and perfect for a cozy get-together with friends or as a savory highlight on the buffet. The juicy leek, combined with a creamy sour cream-egg mixture and crispy breadcrumbs, makes this cake something special. I especially like to bake it in the fall when leeks are in season. If you like, you can add a little more bacon or leave it out altogether - according to taste. An absolute favorite recipe that is always well received!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 750 g Bread dough
  • 6 Stange(n) Leek
  • 400 g Sour cream
  • 4 piece Eggs
  • 1 tbsp Flour
  • 100 ml Sunflower oil or Olive oil
  • 1.5 tbsp Salt
  • 250 g Pepper
  • 200 g Breadcrumbs
  • 250 g Diced bacon

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare leeks

Thermomix® Setting
20 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Clean 750 g leeks, cut into rings and place in the Varoma. Pour 500 ml water into the mixing bowl, attach the Varoma and steam for 20 min./Varoma/level 1.

Roll out bread dough

Roll out 750 g of bread dough from the baker thinly on a floured work surface for two small baking sheets and place on the baking sheets.

Prepare sour cream-egg mixture

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 4

Put 400 g sour cream, 4 eggs, 1 tbsp flour, 100 ml sunflower oil or olive oil, 1.5 tbsp salt and 250 g pepper into the mixing bowl and stir for 20 sec./level 4.

Add leek and bacon

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Linkslauf Speed 2 Reverse

Add the cooked leek and 125 g diced bacon to the sour cream-egg mixture in the mixing bowl and fold in for 5 sec./reverse level 2.

Prepare topping

Mix the remaining 125 g diced bacon in a bowl with 200 g breadcrumbs.

Top and bake cake

Spread the leek-sour cream mixture evenly on the rolled out bread dough. Spread the bacon-breadcrumb mixture evenly on the cake. Bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes at 200°C.
