Description

These hamburger buns are a classic for every burger lover. The recipe is easy to prepare and succeeds with the Thermomix® in no time. The buns are fluffy, slightly sweet and go perfectly with any burger topping. With a working time of 25 minutes and a preparation time of 145 minutes, they are ideal for a cozy weekend. The recipe is designed for 8 servings.

  • 170 ml Water, warm
  • 1 EL Dry yeast
  • 40 g Butter
  • 1 Stück Egg(s)
  • 435 g Flour
  • 40 g Sugar
  • 1 TL Salt
  • 1 Stück Egg white

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting

Add 170 ml warm water, 1 tbsp dry yeast, 40 g butter, 1 egg, 40 g sugar, 1 tsp salt and 435 g flour to the mixing bowl. Knead with the Patix dough knife instead of the standard knife for 2 min./kneading stage to form a dough.

Let the dough rise

Place the dough in a bowl and let it rise, covered, in a warm place for 1 hour.

Shape dough

Place the dough on a floured work surface and knead it to allow the air to escape. Shape the dough into 8 equal-sized balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, leaving some space between them. The balls should have a smooth surface without seams, otherwise they will tear open during baking. Flatten the balls slightly with your hand and let them rise again for 1 hour, covered.

Brush buns

Whisk 1 egg white with 1 tbsp water and brush the dough pieces with it.

Bake buns

Bake the buns at 185°C top/bottom heat for approx. 12-17 minutes until they have taken on a light color.

Let buns cool

Let the buns cool on a wire rack and top as desired.
