Description

This chicken dish is an absolute favorite of ours! The chicken legs are baked on a bed of potatoes, carrots and onions, allowing the vegetables to take on the delicious taste of the chicken. The preparation is very simple and the Thermomix® helps to speed up the preparation. Perfect for a cozy family meal or when you are expecting guests. The long baking time makes the chicken particularly tender and the vegetables nice and soft. A hearty dish that simply makes you happy!

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 4 piece Chicken legs fresh or frozen
  • 5 piece Potato(es)
  • 5 piece Carrot(s)
  • 2 clove Garlic roughly chopped
  • 1 piece Onion(s)
  • 100 ml Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika powder
  • 1 tsp Hot paprika powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Thyme
  • 3 clove Garlic pressed

Preparation (5 steps)

Chop garlic and onion

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 7, 3 sec/Speed 5

Put 2 cloves of garlic in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Then add the onion and chop for another 3 sec./speed 5.

Prepare vegetables

Peel the potatoes and carrots and cut into cubes. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the potato and carrot cubes. Cut the remaining onion into rings and add as well.

Prepare marinade

Thermomix® Setting

Put 100 ml olive oil, 1 tsp sweet paprika powder, 1 tsp hot paprika powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp thyme and 3 pressed cloves of garlic in the mixing bowl and stir for 10 sec./speed 3.

Marinate chicken

Brush the chicken legs with the marinade (important: also put some under the skin!). Add the remaining marinade except for 1 - 2 tsp to the potato-carrot mixture and mix well, season with salt if necessary.

Baking

Put the vegetable mixture in a large baking dish, place the chicken legs on top and bake at 200°C for 60 - 70 minutes. If necessary, brush with remaining marinade. After about half of the baking time, turn the legs over and let them take on color from below for a few minutes. To make the skin crispy, turn again a few minutes before the end of the baking time.
