Description

This brown sugar and garlic caramelized chicken is a comforting and tasty dish, perfect for a family dinner or with friends. The brown sugar adds a subtle sweetness that goes perfectly with the garlic and aromatic herbs. I often prepare this dish in the fall, when the days get shorter and you want hot and comforting dishes. Preparation is quick and easy with the Thermomix®, and baking in the oven yields a tender and caramelized chicken to perfection. A real treat!

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 8 piece chicken thighs
  • 50 g brown cane sugar
  • 4 clove minced garlic
  • 3 c. à s. sweet butter
  • 2 c. à s. chopped parsley
  • 1 c. à s. honey
  • 0.5 c. à c. dried oregano
  • 0.25 c. à c. dried thyme
  • 0.25 c. à c. dried basil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation (8 steps)

Preparing the chicken

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Salt and pepper the chicken thighs.

Melting the butter

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/122°F/Speed 1 50

Put 30 g of butter in the Thermomix bowl and melt for 2 Min./50°C/Stufe 1.

Searing the chicken

Heat the melted butter in a large skillet. Add the chicken, skin side down. Sear on both sides until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the thighs from the pan and set aside.

Preparing the garlic

Put the garlic cloves in the Thermomix bowl and chop for 3 Sek./Stufe 7.

Cooking the garlic

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add the remaining 20 g of butter to the Thermomix bowl with the chopped garlic and cook for 2 Min./120°C/Stufe 1, stirring regularly.

Incorporating the ingredients

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 3/Linkslauf Reverse

Stop the Thermomix. Incorporate the brown sugar, honey, oregano, thyme and basil. Mix for 10 Sek./Stufe 3/Linkslauf.

Oven cooking

Put the chicken in an ovenproof dish. Drizzle with the brown sugar sauce prepared in the Thermomix. Place in the oven and cook for 25 to 30 minutes, until the chicken is caramelized.

Serve

Serve the chicken immediately sprinkled with fresh chopped parsley.
