Description

This recipe for Hungarian Lángos is a hearty treat. The dough is prepared in the Thermomix® and then deep-fried. Topped with crème fraîche and cheese, they are perfect finger food for parties or as a savory main course. Preparation takes about an hour and yields 6 servings.

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 100 ml lukewarm water
  • 1 Würfel fresh yeast
  • 400 g flour
  • 1 TL salt
  • 1 TL sugar
  • 125 g yogurt
  • 250 g Crème fraîche
  • grated cheese
  • garlic oil
  • oil for frying

Prepare the yeast

Add 100 ml lukewarm water and 1 cube of fresh yeast to the mixing bowl and stir for 2 min./37°C/speed 2.

Prepare the dough

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/Kneading speed

Add 400 g flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar and 125 g yogurt to the yeast-water mixture in the mixing bowl and knead for 3 min./kneading setting into a smooth dough.

Let the dough rise

Place the dough in a bowl, cover with a cloth and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, until the volume has doubled.

Shape and fry the lángos

Form 6 equal-sized balls from the dough. Roll out each ball on a floured work surface into an oval flatbread (approx. 1 cm thick) or pull it with your hands. Heat plenty of oil in a pan and deep-fry the lángos in batches until golden brown. Turn once.

Top the lángos

Drain the fried lángos on paper towels and top with 250 g crème fraîche, grated cheese, garlic oil or other ingredients as desired.
