Description

This hearty lasagna with tomatoes and ham is an absolute classic that is well received by the whole family. I have been making it for years and like to vary it with different vegetables. The combination of fruity tomatoes, spicy ham and creamy sauce is simply unbeatable. The preparation takes a little time, but it's definitely worth it! The lasagna tastes especially delicious when it has been left to stand for a while. Ideal for a cozy dinner or a festive lunch.

Ingredients (16 ingredients)

  • 1 piece medium sized onion
  • 1 clove clove of garlic
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 30 g Flour
  • 0.25 l Milk
  • 0.1 l clear broth (instant)
  • 100 g Whipping cream
  • 50 g Double cream cream cheese
  • Salt
  • white pepper
  • grated nutmeg
  • 750 g Tomatoes
  • 200 g Cooked ham
  • 1 bunch Basil
  • 250 g Lasagna sheets
  • 3 tbsp grated Parmesan or vegetarian hard cheese

Preparation (9 steps)

Chop onion and garlic

Peel the onion, halve it and put it in the mixing bowl with the clove of garlic. Chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Use the spatula to push everything down from the edge.

Sauté onion and garlic

Add oil and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Prepare roux

Add flour and sauté for 1 min./100°C/speed 2.

Prepare sauce

Add milk, broth and cream and bring to the boil, stirring, for 5 min./90°C/speed 3.

Melt cheese

Thermomix® Setting

Add cream cheese and melt in the sauce for 2 min./60°C/speed 2.

Season the sauce

Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg and stir for 10 sec./speed 3.

Prepare tomatoes and dice ham

Clean and wash the tomatoes and cut them into slices. Dice the ham. Wash the basil and pluck the leaves from the stems, except for a few for garnish.

Layer lasagna

Grease a casserole dish. Layer pasta sheets, cheese sauce, except for 4 tablespoons, tomatoes and ham alternately in the dish. Finish with tomato slices. Pour the remaining cheese sauce over it. Sprinkle cheese on top.

Bake lasagna

Bake the lasagna in a preheated oven (electric oven: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for approx. 45 minutes until golden brown. If necessary, cover with parchment paper in the last few minutes. Remove, let cool slightly and garnish with the remaining basil.
