Ingredients (13 ingredients)

  • 4 kg meaty spareribs
  • 1 Stück untreated lemon
  • 0.5 Bund parsley
  • 1 TL oregano
  • 6 Knoblauchzehen garlic cloves
  • 1 Stück ginger root (approx. 14 cm)
  • 12 EL soy sauce
  • 4 EL tomato ketchup
  • 2 EL honey
  • 2 EL balsamic vinegar
  • 12 EL chili sauce
  • 6 EL oil
  • pepper

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare spareribs

Cut 3 kg of meaty spareribs into equally sized pieces.

Cook spareribs

Place the cut spareribs in a pot and cover well with water. Cut 1 untreated lemon into slices and add to the spareribs together with 0.5 bunch of parsley and 1 tsp of oregano. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 25-30 minutes.

Chop garlic and ginger

Place 6 garlic cloves and 1 piece of ginger root (approx. 14 cm) in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7.

Prepare marinade

Add 12 tbsp soy sauce, 4 tbsp tomato ketchup, 2 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar, 12 tbsp chili sauce and 6 - 8 tbsp oil to the chopped garlic and ginger in the mixing bowl and stir for 10 sec./speed 3.

Season marinade

Season the marinade with salt and pepper.

Marinate spareribs

Drain the spareribs and season both sides with salt and pepper. Place in a bowl and pour the marinade over them. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour.

Grill spareribs or in the oven

GRILL Remove the meat from the marinade and let it drain. Place on the grill and grill until crispy brown on each side for 15 minutes. Then brush with the remaining marinade. OVEN Cook the meat with the marinade in an ovenproof dish for approx. 20 to 30 minutes at 180 degrees convection or 200 degrees top/bottom heat.
