Description

These golden pumpkin sticks are a delicious and easy-to-prepare autumnal snack. The pumpkin, cut into sticks and fried until crispy, is a real comfort food. Perfect as a tasty appetizer or as an original side dish, these sticks are a tasty alternative to the usual French fries. Fresh rosemary and salt enhance the sweet flavor of the pumpkin, creating a perfect balance. Ideal for an evening with friends or for an autumn aperitif. They are prepared in a short time and are a guaranteed success!

Ingredients (4 ingredients)

  • 500 g pumpkin
  • seed oil for frying
  • rosemary
  • fine salt

Preparation (5 steps)

Prepare pumpkin

The cleaned pumpkin (500 g) is cut into sticks about half a cm thick. Make sure they are all the same size for even cooking.

Heat oil

Pour plenty of seed oil into a pan and heat until it reaches the ideal temperature for frying. To check the temperature, dip a pumpkin stick: if it sizzles immediately, the oil is ready.

Fry pumpkin

Fry the pumpkin sticks (a few at a time) in hot oil for about 3-4 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. Use tongs or a slotted spoon to turn them during cooking.

Drain pumpkin

Drain the fried pumpkin sticks with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with absorbent paper to remove excess oil. Repeat until all the sticks are fried.

Season and serve

Season the fried pumpkin sticks with fine salt and chopped fresh rosemary. Serve immediately, piping hot.
