Description

This homemade guava bread is a Venezuelan delight that will transport you to unique flavors. Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 480 ml water
  • 8 gramos dry yeast
  • 2 piece eggs
  • 2 tbsp margarine
  • 700 gramos wheat flour
  • 200 gramos sugar
  • 1 al gusto guava jam

Mix dry and wet ingredients

In the Thermomix bowl, add the flour, dry yeast, sugar, an egg and the margarine. Then, add the water and mix for 3 minutes at speed 3.

Knead the dough

Pour the dough onto a lightly floured work surface and knead for 5 minutes. If the dough is very sticky, add a little more flour. Let it rest covered for 10 minutes.

Roll out and cut the dough

Roll out the dough into a rectangle and cut the edges to make it uniform.

Spread the guava jam

Spread a layer of guava jam on the surface of the dough. Do not use too much to avoid it overflowing.

Fold the dough

Carefully fold the dough once over itself. Then, make two more folds, but avoid more folds so that the bread cooks well inside.

Divide and place on the tray

Divide the dough into two parts and place them on a baking sheet.

Make decorative cuts

Make decorative cuts with a knife or blade on the top.

Brush with egg

Beat the remaining egg and brush the surface of the Venezuelan sweet bread.

Bake the bread

Bake at 190 ºC for 15 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
