Description

These whole wheat Easter rolls are a delightful and festive treat for your Easter brunch or breakfast. Made with sour cream and a touch of sweetness, they have a soft and slightly tangy flavor that everyone will love. The addition of whole wheat flour gives them a wholesome texture and a nutty taste. Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 5 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 piece eggs
  • 4 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 24 piece whole black peppercorns

Preparation (5 steps)

Melt butter and combine with sour cream and water

Add sour cream, butter, and water to the Thermomix bowl. Heat for 3 Min./50°C/Stufe 2 until the butter is melted and the mixture is tepid. Remove from the Thermomix bowl and set aside to cool.

Combine dry ingredients and eggs

Add whole wheat flour, eggs, sugar, and salt to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 20 Sek./Stufe 4 to combine.

Knead the dough

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Kneading speed

Add the cooled sour cream mixture to the Thermomix bowl. Knead for 2 Min./Knetstufe. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.

Shape the dough

Remove the dough from the Thermomix bowl. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Form the dough into 12 balls. Use clean kitchen scissors to make snips to form ears and add peppercorns for eyes.

Bake the rolls

Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes.
