Description

This sheet cake with spices from the Thermomix® is a festive dessert for the winter season. The main ingredients are butter, eggs, sugar, flour and almonds. Preparation takes about 50 minutes and yields 12 servings. Ideal as finger food for Christmas occasions or with coffee. The recipe is easy to implement and is suitable for the whole family.

Ingredients (14 ingredients)

  • 170 g Butter
  • 1 Fläschchen Rum aroma
  • 5 Stück Eggs (size M)
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 200 g Wheat flour type 405
  • 100 g Almonds (ground)
  • 50 g Baking cocoa
  • 2 Pck. Vanilla pudding powder
  • 1 Pck. Baking powder
  • 2 TL Gingerbread spice
  • 1 Prise(n) Salt
  • 170 ml Mineral water (with lots of bubbles)
  • 350 g Powdered sugar
  • 5 EL Milk

Preparation (9 steps)

Melt butter

3 min/122°F/Speed 2 50

Add 170 g butter to the mixing bowl and melt for 3 min./50°C/speed 2.

Add rum aroma

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 2

Add 1 vial of rum aroma to the melted butter in the mixing bowl and stir for 10 sec./speed 2.

Beat eggs and sugar

Thermomix® Setting
4 min/Speed 4

Add 5 eggs (size M) and 200 g sugar to the mixing bowl and beat for 4 min./speed 4 until the mixture is light and creamy.

Mix dry ingredients

Add 200 g wheat flour type 405, 100 g almonds (ground), 50 g baking cocoa, 2 packs vanilla pudding powder, 1 pack baking powder, 2 tsp gingerbread spice and 1 pinch(es) salt to the mixing bowl and mix for 15 sec./speed 3.

Mix dry and liquid ingredients

30 sec/Speed 3

Add the dry ingredients to the egg-sugar mixture in the mixing bowl. Also add the butter-rum aroma mixture. Stir for 30 sec./speed 3. Use a spatula to loosen everything from the edge.

Fold in mineral water

10 sec/Linkslauf Speed 2 Reverse

Add 170 ml mineral water (with lots of bubbles) to the mixing bowl and fold in for 10 sec./reverse rotation speed 2 so that the carbon dioxide does not escape.

Bake dough

Spread the dough on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 175 °C top and bottom heat for about 20 minutes. Do a stick test.

Prepare glaze

20 sec/Speed 3

Add 350 g powdered sugar and 5 tbsp milk to the mixing bowl and stir for 20 sec./speed 3 until a thick, spreadable glaze is formed.

Glaze cake

Spread the cooled cake with the glaze and let it dry.
