Description

This recipe shows how to prepare a gratinated chicken breast. The chicken breast is breaded and fried in a pan before being gratinated with ham and cheese in the oven. The dish is rich in protein and is well suited as a main course. The preparation time is about 35 minutes.

  • 1 piece Chicken breast
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Flour
  • 1 piece Egg
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Margarine
  • Sage
  • 1 slice Cooked ham
  • 1 slice Swiss cheese

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare chicken breast

Season the chicken breast with salt and pepper.

Bread

First turn the seasoned chicken breast in flour, then in beaten egg and finally in breadcrumbs.

Fry

Lightly fry the breaded chicken breast on both sides in margarine in a separate pan.

Prepare dish

Place the fried chicken breast in a baking dish and sprinkle with sage.

Add margarine

Pour the margarine from the frying pan over the chicken breast.

Bake

Place the dish in the oven and bake at 225°C for 15 minutes. Baste occasionally with the frying fat.

Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each chicken breast and gratinate in the oven until the cheese has melted.
