Description

This chicken poke with sweet and sour sauce is an explosion of flavors and textures that you will love. The chicken breast, juicy and marinated in a delicious soy sauce, ginger and garlic sauce, combines perfectly with steamed rice and fresh vegetables. I usually use carrots, broccoli and cauliflower, but you can add the ones you like the most. The edamames give it a crunchy and nutritious touch. It is a complete, healthy and very easy to prepare dish, ideal for a quick meal during the week or to surprise your guests with an exotic touch. Go ahead and try it, you won't regret it!

Ingredients (15 ingredients)

  • 500 gramos chicken breast
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 tazas vegetables to taste (carrot, broccoli and/or cauliflower)
  • 1 cup shelled edamames
  • 2 tazas steamed rice
  • oil
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 1 clove grated garlic
  • 1 cucharada sopera grated ginger
  • 1 cucharadita muscovado sugar
  • 1 cucharada sopera rice vinegar
  • 1 cucharada sopera cornstarch
  • sesame seeds
  • nori seaweed pieces (optional)

Vegetable preparation

Thermomix® Setting
10 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Wash and cut the chosen vegetables (carrot, broccoli and/or cauliflower) into small pieces. If you prefer pre-cooked vegetables, steam them in the Varoma for 10 Min./Varoma/Stufe 1. Then, let them rest in a strainer to remove excess water and reserve.

Chicken cooking

Cut the chicken breast into strips or fillets. In a pan, add a little oil and season the chicken with salt and pepper to taste. Cook over medium heat until lightly browned. Remove the chicken from the pan and reserve.

Sauce preparation

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/194°F/Speed 2 90

In the same pan where you cooked the chicken, add the soy sauce, grated garlic clove, grated ginger, sugar and vinegar. Mix very well and cook over medium low heat for 2 Min./90°C/Stufe 2. Add the cornstarch dissolved in a little cold water and cook for 1 Min./90°C/Stufe 2 until the sauce thickens.

Incorporation of chicken into the sauce

Thermomix® Setting
1 min/194°F/Speed 1 90

Add the chicken to the sauce and mix to coat well. Cook for 1 Min./90°C/Stufe 1 to integrate the flavors. Remove from heat and reserve.

Assembly of the poke

In a bowl, serve the steamed rice as a base. Then, add the chicken with the sauce, the cooked vegetables, the edamames, a little sesame seeds to taste and a few pieces of nori seaweed (optional).
