Description

This country chicken with potatoes is a comforting and tasty dish, perfect for autumn evenings or family meals. I have been making this recipe for years and it is always a success. The chicken is browned to perfection, the potatoes are melting and the caramelized onions add a touch of sweetness. It is a complete and easy to prepare dish, ideal for beginners in cooking. Feel free to add some herbs from Provence to flavor the dish more. A real delight!

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 100 g Pork rind
  • 1 kg Potato
  • 1.5 kg Onion
  • 40 g Butter
  • 1 verre(s) Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation of ingredients

Cut the chicken into pieces. Peel and cut the potatoes into small dice. Peel and slice the onions. Set aside.

Melt the onions

Pour half of the oil (about 60 ml) into the Thermomix bowl. Add the sliced onions and melt them for 20 min/100°C/Stufe 1, stirring from time to time with the spatula.

Brown the chicken

In a saucepan, heat the rest of the oil (about 60 ml) with the butter. Brown the chicken in it, salt, pepper, then remove it and keep it waiting on a plate.

Sauté the potatoes

In the saucepan, pour in the potatoes, increase the heat and sauté them, stirring for 10 min. Salt and pepper.

Preparation of the casserole dish

In a casserole dish, arrange the rinds to line the bottom. Put a layer of potatoes then a layer of onions. Alternate like this until the end of the ingredients and place the pieces of chicken on top.

Recover the juices and cook

Scrape the cooking juices from the onion and potato pan, adding a glass of water each time, and pour over the chicken. Cover and cook for 1 hour 30 minutes covered over low heat.
