Description

This comforting dish is perfect for autumn evenings. Chicken thighs, flavored with a blend of sweet spices like ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon, are incredibly tasty. The sweet potato purée, creamy and slightly sweet, brings a touch of sweetness that perfectly balances the spicy flavors of the chicken. I love making this dish because it is simple to make and always appreciated. The purée can be prepared in advance, which is ideal for saving time. A real delight for the taste buds!

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 2 piece Chicken thighs
  • 1 piece Sweet potato
  • 2 piece Onions
  • to taste Ginger powder
  • to taste Turmeric powder
  • to taste Nutmeg powder
  • to taste Cinnamon powder
  • Olive oil
  • 1 null Butter 1/2 salt
  • Crème fraîche (light)
  • Coarse salt

Preparation of onions

Thermomix® Setting

Peel the onions and cut them in half. Put the cut onions in the Thermomix bowl and chop 3 Sec./Stufe 5.

Cooking the onions

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add a drizzle of olive oil to the Thermomix bowl. Sauté the chopped onions 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Browning the chicken

Remove the onions from the Thermomix and set aside. In a pan, over low heat, pour a drizzle of olive oil. Brown the chicken thighs on each side.

Preparation of the spice mix

In a bowl, mix 2 tsp of ginger powder, 2 tsp of turmeric powder, a pinch of nutmeg and a pinch of cinnamon.

Cooking the spiced chicken

Add the reserved onions back to the pan with the chicken thighs. Sprinkle 3/4 of the spice mixture over the chicken thighs, making sure to season each side. Salt everything. Continue cooking over low heat for 35 min, turning the chicken thighs regularly.

Preparation of sweet potatoes

Peel and rinse the sweet potato, then cut it into small cubes.

Cooking the sweet potatoes

Pour 500 ml of salted water into the Thermomix bowl. Place the sweet potato cubes in the simmering basket and insert the basket into the Thermomix. Cook 20 Min./100°C/Stufe 1.

Purée preparation

Remove the simmering basket with the cooked sweet potatoes. Empty the water from the bowl. Put the cooked sweet potatoes back into the Thermomix bowl. Add 1 knob of butter, 1 tbsp of crème fraîche and the rest of the spices. Mix 20 Sek./Stufe 4.

Plating

Using a spoon, place the desired amount of purée on your plate, arrange a chicken thigh and coat the purée with the chicken juice.
