Description

This Hawaiian-style soy sauce chicken is a recipe I often prepare at home. The combination of soy sauce with the sweet touch of brown sugar and fresh ginger creates an exotic and delicious flavor. It is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or to surprise your guests with a different dish. The meat is very tender and juicy, and the sauce is ideal to accompany with white rice. Go ahead and try this recipe, you'll love it! In addition, it is a great way to enjoy a dish with Asian influences without complications.

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 2 piece Chicken hindquarters
  • 2 piece Chicken wings
  • 4 piece Elongated spring onion
  • 160 ml Chicken broth
  • 120 ml Soy sauce
  • 75 g Brown sugar
  • 6 dientes Garlic
  • 5 cm Fresh ginger piece of some
  • 240 ml Water
  • 3 cucharadas Cornstarch

Preparation (9 steps)

Preparation of the spring onions

Cut the white part of the spring onions into thin slices. Reserve the green part to decorate at the end.

Sauce preparation

In the Thermomix bowl, add the white part of the sliced spring onions, 160 ml of chicken broth, 120 ml of soy sauce, 75 g of brown sugar, 240 ml of water, 6 peeled garlic cloves and the chopped fresh ginger. Program 5 Sec./Speed 5 to crush the ingredients.

Sauce cooking

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Velocidad 2 100

Program 5 Min./100°C/Speed 2 to cook the sauce and dissolve the sugar.

Add the chicken

Add the 2 chicken hindquarters and the 2 chicken wings to the Thermomix bowl, making sure the skin is facing down.

Cook the chicken

Thermomix® Setting
30 min/212°F/Giro a la izquierda/Velocidad Cuchara 100 Reverse

Program 30 Min./100°C/Reverse direction/Spoon speed. Halfway through cooking, turn the chicken carefully.

Remove the chicken and set aside

Remove the chicken from the Thermomix bowl and set aside on a separate plate.

Thicken the sauce

In a separate bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of cornstarch with 3 tablespoons of water until a smooth paste is obtained. Add this mixture to the Thermomix bowl with the sauce.

Cook the sauce until thickened

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/194°F/Velocidad 3 90

Program 3 Min./90°C/Speed 3 to cook the sauce until it thickens. Watch the consistency and add more time if necessary.

Serve

Place the chicken in a serving dish, cover with the thickened sauce and decorate with the reserved green part of the spring onions. Serve hot.
