Description
This mosquito bite salve is a natural alternative to relieve itching and swelling after insect bites. It contains soothing herbs such as plantain and calendula, combined with essential oils. Preparation in the Thermomix® is quick and easy. Ideal for the summer months and for those who prefer natural skin care. The salve is ready in about 15 minutes.
Ingredients (6 ingredients)

10 g dried herbs (e.g. plantain, yarrow)

10 g dried calendula flowers

100 ml base oil (e.g. olive oil, almond oil)

20 g beeswax

5 Tropfen lavender essential oil

5 Tropfen tea tree essential oil
Preparation (7 steps)
Chop herbs and calendula flowers
Place 10 g of dried herbs (e.g. plantain, yarrow) and 10 g of dried calendula flowers in the mixing bowl and chop for 10 sec/speed 10. If necessary, scrape down the sides with the spatula and repeat the process.
Add oil and mix
Add 100 ml of base oil (e.g. olive oil, almond oil) to the chopped herbs and calendula flowers in the mixing bowl and mix for 2 min/50°C/speed 2.
Let cool
Transfer the mixture from the mixing bowl to a clean, heat-resistant container and let it cool completely. This may take several hours.
Melt beeswax
Place 20 g of beeswax in the cleaned mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec/speed 5. Then melt for 5 min/60°C/speed 2.
Add herbal oil and mix
Add the cooled herbal oil to the melted beeswax in the mixing bowl and mix for 2 min/37°C/speed 3.
Add essential oils and mix
Add 5 drops of lavender essential oil and 5 drops of tea tree essential oil to the mixing bowl and mix for 30 sec/speed 2 reverse.
Fill
Immediately pour the finished salve into clean jars or tins and close. Allow to cool completely before first use.
