Description

This steamed chicken with apricots and ginger is a dish that I often prepare when I want something light but flavorful. The marinade with rice wine, fresh ginger and dried apricots gives the chicken an exotic aroma and an irresistible sweet and sour taste. Steaming makes it tender and juicy, perfect for a healthy and tasty dinner. Served with a caramelized sauce based on the cooking liquid, it is a real treat for the palate. Ideal for those looking for a light alternative rich in oriental flavors.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 4 persone Chicken
  • Chinese rice wine
  • Ginger
  • Dried apricots
  • Sesame oil
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Sugar

Preparation (5 steps)

Chicken marinade

In a bowl, put the chicken with an appropriate amount of rice wine, dried apricots cut into small pieces, fresh ginger cut into strips, sesame oil, salt and sugar. Mix well and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Varoma preparation

Pour 500 ml of water into the Thermomix bowl.

Steaming

Transfer the marinated chicken to a glass container suitable for the Varoma. Place the container in the Varoma. Close the Varoma with the lid and cook for 25 minutes/Varoma/Stufe 1.

Sauce preparation

When cooked, remove the chicken from the Varoma and set aside together with the solid ingredients of the marinade. Pour the cooking liquid into the Thermomix bowl, add a tablespoon of sugar and cook for 5 minutes/100°C/Stufe 2, without the measuring cup, to thicken the sauce.

Plating

Arrange the chicken on a serving dish, coat it with the caramelized sauce and garnish with pieces of apricot and ginger used for the marinade.
