Description

This sautéed chicken with Chinese cabbage is a tasty and easy-to-prepare dish, perfect for a quick weeknight meal. I love the combination of the tenderness of the chicken with the crunch of the Chinese cabbage, all enhanced by a deliciously fragrant soy and oyster sauce. The prior marinating of the chicken gives it incredible tenderness and intense flavor. This dish is ideal to accompany white rice or Chinese noodles. Feel free to add other vegetables such as carrots or mushrooms for an even more complete version. A real treat!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 800 g chicken (breasts or pieces)
  • 1 bunch Chinese cabbage pé-tsaï
  • 2 c. à s. soy sauce
  • 2 c. à s. oyster sauce
  • Neutral oil
  • 2 clove degermed garlic
  • 1 piece onion (large)
  • 2 cm ginger
  • Pepper

Preparation (8 steps)

Marinated chicken

In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces (800 g) with the oyster sauce (2 tbsp) and soy sauce (2 tbsp). Marinate for at least one hour in the refrigerator. You can marinate the meat from the day before for more flavor.

Preparation of ingredients

Peel and cut the onion (1 large) into thin slices. Wash and cut the Chinese cabbage (1 bunch): separate the stems and cut them into 3, then cut the leaves in 2. Peel the garlic (2 cloves) and the ginger (2 cm).

Add the sliced onion (1 large) and the neutral oil (1 tbsp) in the Thermomix bowl. Sauté 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Cooking the Chinese cabbage

Add the cut Chinese cabbage (1 bunch) in the Thermomix bowl. Cook 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 1.

Pan-frying the chicken

In a pan, heat some neutral oil (1 tbsp). Cook the marinated chicken (800 g) for 15 minutes, until it is golden and cooked.

Final mixture

Put the chopped garlic and ginger, the cooked onions and the cooked Chinese cabbage back in the Thermomix bowl. Add the cooked chicken. Cook 5 Min./100°C/Linkslauf Stufe 1.

Seasoning and finishing

Pepper to taste. If you want more sauce, add a little water (about 50 ml) and cook again 5 Min./100°C/Linkslauf Stufe 1.
