Description

These colorful meringue swirls are a delightful treat that's sure to bring a smile to anyone's face! I've been making these for birthday parties and special occasions for years, and they're always a hit. The light, airy texture combined with the vibrant colors makes them irresistible. They take a little time to bake, but the result is well worth the effort. Feel free to experiment with different food coloring combinations to create your own unique designs. These are naturally gluten-free, making them a great option for those with dietary restrictions. Enjoy!

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 3 piece egg whites, at room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp cream of tartar
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 6 drops pink food coloring, or as needed
  • 6 drops blue food coloring, or as needed
  • 6 drops purple food coloring, or as needed
  • 1.5 tsp edible rainbow glitter, or as needed

Preparation (6 steps)

1

Prepare the Oven and Baking Sheets

Preheat the oven to 215 degrees F (102 degrees C). Cover 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.

2

Whip Egg Whites

Thermomix® Setting

Add Sugar Gradually

Prepare Piping Bag with Colors

Spoon the meringue mixture into a piping bag. Drop in 6 drops pink food coloring, 6 drops blue food coloring, and 6 drops purple food coloring, spacing the colors evenly apart and pushing them down the sides of the bag with a butter knife. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.

5

Pipe Meringues

Pipe the meringue mixture onto the prepared baking sheets into 1 1/2-inch 'poop'-shaped spirals. Space them close together, as the spirals will not expand. Add more color to the piping bag if meringues start to look too pale. Sprinkle 1 ½ teaspoons edible rainbow glitter over the meringues. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.

6

Bake Meringues

Bake in the preheated oven until dry and set, about 2 hours. This step is done outside of the Thermomix.
