Description

This recipe for rice with beef is a hearty main course that is easy to prepare. The beef is cooked with bay leaf and peppercorns, while the rice is cooked separately. Onions and root vegetables add extra flavor. Ideal for a filling lunch or dinner.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 250 g Beef
  • 0.5 Stück Bay leaf
  • 3 Stück Peppercorns
  • 1.5 l Water
  • 1 Stück Onion
  • 1 Stück Root vegetables
  • 250 g Rice
  • 1 Bund fresh Parsley

Cook Beef

Add 250g beef, 1/2 bay leaf and 3 peppercorns to the mixing bowl. Add 1 1/2l water and salt. Cook for 30 min./100°C/speed 1.

Chop onion and root vegetables

Add 1 onion and root vegetables to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5.

Sauté onion and root vegetables

Thermomix® Setting

Add the onion and root vegetables to the beef and cook for another 5 min./100°C/speed 1.

Cook Rice

In the meantime, bring 250g rice to the boil with boiling salted water in a separate saucepan, cook for 5 minutes and leave to simmer covered. Then rinse the rice on a sieve under running water and drain.

Collect meat stock and cut meat

Collect the meat stock through a sieve. Cut the beef into cubes.

Mix rice and meat

Add the rice, the diced meat and the strained meat stock to the mixing bowl. Heat for 5 min./100°C/speed 1.

Refine with parsley

Thermomix® Setting

Add chopped fresh parsley and stir in for 5 sec./speed 3. Refine with a knob of butter or margarine as desired.
