Description

This roast poultry with herbs and potatoes dish is a classic revisited with the Thermomix®. I love preparing this dish for family meals, especially in autumn when new potatoes are at their peak. The chicken is incredibly tender and flavorful thanks to the herb butter, and the vegetables are melting and tasty. It is a complete and comforting dish that is sure to please all guests. Feel free to vary the herbs according to your tastes and add other vegetables such as carrots or turnips. A real delight!

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 1.6 kg Chicken
  • 4 brindille Thyme
  • 600 g Potato(es)
  • 80 g Half-salted butter
  • 7 clove Garlic
  • 2 piece Onion(s)
  • 0.5 piece Red pepper(s)
  • 0.5 piece Green pepper(s)
  • 0.5 piece Yellow pepper(s)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation of herb butter

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

Take the butter out of the refrigerator 30 minutes before starting. Pick the thyme sprigs. Put the softened butter and thyme leaves in the Thermomix bowl and mix 20 Sek./Stufe 3, until creamy.

Preparation of vegetables

Remove the garlic germ. Cut the onions into quarters. Peel and wash the potatoes, then cut them into pieces. Cut the peppers into thin strips.

Chicken preparation

Using a piping bag, slide the thyme butter between the skin and the flesh of the chicken. Season the inside and outside of the chicken with salt and pepper.

Cooking vegetables

Preheat the oven to 180°C. In an oven dish, place the peppers, garlic and onions. Add the potatoes and season with salt and pepper.

Oven cooking of chicken

Place the chicken on the vegetables. Bake the chicken and vegetables for 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30, basting the chicken regularly with its juice and mixing the vegetables. Turn the chicken halfway through cooking for even golden skin.

Service

After this time, remove the dish from the oven, cut the roast chicken into pieces and serve with the vegetables.
