This crisp cabbage salad is a delightful side dish, perfect for picnics, barbecues, or a light lunch. The tangy dressing, made with red wine vinegar and a hint of celery seed, perfectly complements the crunchy coleslaw mix. I've been making this salad for years, and it's always a hit! It's incredibly easy to prepare, especially with the Thermomix®, and the flavors meld together beautifully as it chills in the refrigerator. This salad is a great way to add some freshness to any meal. It's also budget-friendly and can be easily doubled or tripled for larger gatherings.

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 0.25 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 0.33333333333333 teaspoon celery seed
  • 3 piece green onions, thinly sliced
  • 16 ounce coleslaw mix

Prepare the Dressing

Add ¼ cup red wine vinegar, 2 tablespoons white sugar, 2 teaspoons salt, and ⅓ teaspoon celery seed to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 20 seconds at speed 3 until the sugar and salt are dissolved.

Add Green Onions

Add 3 thinly sliced green onions to the Thermomix bowl and mix for 5 seconds at speed 2 to combine with the dressing.

Combine Coleslaw Mix and Dressing

Pour the dressing from the Thermomix bowl into a large salad bowl. Add 2 (8 ounce) packages coleslaw mix to the bowl and toss to coat evenly.

Refrigerate

Cover the salad bowl and refrigerate for 4 to 6 hours to allow the flavors to meld together.
