Description

This exotic potato salad is a wonderful alternative to classic recipes! The combination of sweet dates, bananas and savory potatoes makes it a real taste experience. I especially like to make it in the summer for barbecues or as a side dish for brunch. The preparation is super easy and the salad is easy to prepare, as it needs some time to steep anyway. A dash of white wine and a splash of lemon round off the whole thing perfectly. If you like, you can add some chili for a slight spiciness. Simply tastes delicious!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 2 piece Tomato
  • 3 piece Banana
  • 2 piece Potato, cooked
  • 2 Handvoll Date, pitted
  • 1 piece Celery, raw
  • 1 piece Lemon, juice of it
  • 1 Glas White wine
  • 1 Tube Mayonnaise, small
  • 1 tbsp Evaporated milk

Preparation (5 steps)

Chop celery

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Speed 5

Cut the celery into coarse pieces, put it in the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec./speed 5. If necessary, use the spatula to push it away from the edge and repeat the process.

Prepare potatoes, bananas and tomatoes

Slice the cooked potatoes, bananas and tomatoes. Quarter the dates and add to the chopped celery in a bowl.

Prepare dressing

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 3

Put white wine, lemon juice and mayonnaise in the mixing bowl. Add a tablespoon of evaporated milk for floury potatoes. Stir for 10 sec./speed 3.

Mix salad

Pour the dressing from the mixing bowl over the prepared ingredients in the bowl and mix carefully. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Let the salad steep

Let the salad steep well in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours so that the flavors can develop optimally.
