Description

This homemade BBQ sauce is a must for every barbecue. With simple ingredients such as ketchup, vinegar, honey and spices, a delicious sauce is created in the Thermomix®. The preparation takes only 25 minutes and results in a versatile sauce for meat, vegetables or as a dip. Ideal for pre-cooking and storing.

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 40 g Oil
  • 2 Stück Garlic clove
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 120 g Honey
  • 300 g Ketchup
  • 100 g Vinegar
  • 60 ml Worcester sauce
  • 60 g Mustard
  • 2 TL Chili flakes
  • 2.5 TL Smoked salt

Preparation (5 steps)

Chop garlic

Put 2 garlic cloves into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. If necessary, scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Sauté garlic

1 min/248°F/Speed 1 248°F

Add 40 g oil to the chopped garlic in the mixing bowl and sauté for 1 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add sugar and honey

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/212°F/Speed 2 212°F

Add 100 g brown sugar and 120 g honey to the mixing bowl and bring to the boil for 3 min./100°C/speed 2 without the measuring cup to caramelize the mixture slightly.

Finish the sauce

15 min/212°F/Speed 2 212°F

Add 300 g ketchup, 100 g vinegar, 60 ml Worcester sauce, 60 g mustard, 2 tsp chili flakes and 2.5 tsp smoked salt to the mixing bowl and bring to the boil and simmer for 15 min./100°C/speed 2 without the measuring cup.

Bottling

Carefully pour the finished BBQ sauce into a screw-top jar or boiled jars. Be careful, the sauce is hot!
