Description

This pork in morita sauce is a traditional Mexican dish that always triumphs at home. The sauce, made with green tomato and morita chillies, gives it a spicy and smoky touch that combines perfectly with the pork. It is ideal for a family meal or a special celebration. The recipe is easy to prepare with the Thermomix®, although it requires a little time to roast the sauce ingredients. But the result is worth it! It can be accompanied with refried beans and white rice. If you like spicy food, this recipe is for you!

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 1 kilogramo Pork meat in pieces
  • 1 kilogramo Green tomato
  • 8 pieza Morita chilli
  • 0.5 pieza Onion
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 1 pinch Oregano
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Pepper

Preparation (5 steps)

Roast the sauce ingredients

Place the green tomatoes, morita chillies, onion and garlic on a hot griddle and roast until lightly burnt. This will give the sauce a smoky flavour.

Cut and fry the pork

While the sauce ingredients are roasting, cut the pork into cubes of approximately 2 cm. Heat a little oil in a pan and fry the meat over medium heat until golden brown. Set aside.

Prepare the sauce in the Thermomix

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 10

Once the sauce ingredients are roasted, place them in the Thermomix bowl. Crush 30 sec./Stufe 10 until you get a homogeneous sauce. If necessary, add a little water to facilitate the process.

Cook the meat in the sauce

Thermomix® Setting
10 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Pour the sauce over the golden pork in the Thermomix bowl. Program 10 Min./100°C/Stufe 2 so that the flavours integrate and the meat is impregnated with the sauce.

Add oregano and cook

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Add a pinch of oregano to the Thermomix bowl. Mix well with the spatula. Program 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 2 so that the meat is cooked in the morita sauce.
