Description

This hearty minced meat, bean and potato casserole from the Thermomix® is a hearty main course with potatoes, minced meat, kidney beans and peppers. Preparation takes about 75 minutes, with an active working time of 45 minutes. The recipe is gluten-free and ideal for a family meal or party. It yields 6 servings.

Ingredients (18 ingredients)

  • 600 g waxy potatoes
  • 1 Stück Onion
  • 1 Zehe Garlic
  • 1 Stück Bell pepper
  • 250 g Kidney beans (drained weight)
  • 140 g Corn (drained weight)
  • 1 EL Rapeseed oil
  • 400 g Ground beef
  • 2 EL Tomato paste
  • 500 g sieved tomatoes
  • 0.5 TL Cumin
  • 1 EL Sweet paprika powder
  • 0.5 TL Chili
  • 0.5 TL Cinnamon
  • nach Geschmack Salt
  • nach Geschmack Pepper
  • 200 g Sour cream
  • 150 g grated Cheese (e.g. Cheddar)

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare potatoes

Peel 600 g waxy potatoes and cut into small pieces. Place the potato pieces in a saucepan, cover with water and bring to a boil with salt. Cook the potatoes for about 15 minutes until they are done. Then drain and set aside.

Chop onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 5, 3 sec/Speed 7

Put 1 peeled onion into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Add 1 clove of garlic and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Use the spatula to push everything down from the edge.

Sauté onion and garlic

Add 1 tbsp rapeseed oil to the onions and garlic in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Fry ground beef

Heat 1 tbsp rapeseed oil in a pan and fry 400 g ground beef in it, seasoning with salt and pepper. Add the sautéed onions and garlic from the mixing bowl to the ground beef in the pan and fry briefly. Stir in 2 tbsp tomato paste and roast briefly.

Prepare Chili

Put the fried ground beef with onions, garlic and tomato paste into the mixing bowl. Add 500 g sieved tomatoes, 1 diced bell pepper, 1 can kidney beans (drained weight 250 g), 1 can corn (drained weight 140 g), 1/2 tsp cumin, 1 tbsp sweet paprika powder, 1/2 tsp chili, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, salt and pepper. Simmer everything for 10 min./100°C/speed 1.

Layer casserole

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees top and bottom heat. Place the cooked potatoes in a casserole dish and mix with the chili.

Bake casserole

Spread 200 g sour cream over the casserole and sprinkle with 150 g grated cheese (e.g. Cheddar). Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
