Description

This berry basil syrup is an absolute summer hit! I make it every year when the berries are ripe in the garden. The combination of sweet raspberries, blueberries and strawberries with the fresh basil is simply unbeatable. The syrup tastes delicious in mineral water, prosecco or cocktails. It is also a great gift for barbecues or birthdays. The preparation is super easy and the Thermomix® makes the job even easier. A must for all berry lovers!

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 150 g Raspberries
  • 150 g Blueberries
  • 200 g Strawberries
  • 15 g Basil
  • 1 piece Lemon
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 150 ml Water

Preparation (5 steps)

Prepare Berries

Wash raspberries, blueberries and strawberries. Clean and quarter the strawberries. Wash and shake dry the basil leaves. Squeeze the lemon and have the juice ready.

Cook Syrup

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Add 150 g raspberries, 150 g blueberries, 200 g strawberries, 150 g sugar and the lemon juice to the mixing bowl. Add 150 ml water and cook for 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 2.

Add Basil and Let Steep

Add 15 g basil and stir in with the spatula. Close the mixing bowl and let the mixture steep overnight (approx. 24 hours).

Strain Syrup

Strain the mixture through a clean cloth and squeeze well. Put the collected juice back into the mixing bowl.

Reduce Syrup and Bottle

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Bring the juice to the boil again for 3 Min./100°C/Stufe 2. Pour hot into sterile glass bottles and seal immediately.
